A 20-year-old man has been sentenced to life with a minimum of 18 years in prison for his brother's murder.

Tyler Lindley pleaded guilty to murdering 22-year-old brother Cameron at a house in Treforis, near Ammanford in Carmarthenshire, on 8 September last year.

He was sentenced at Swansea Crown Court on Thursday.

Lindley, from Cimla, Neath, was handed a sentence of life imprisonment and will serve a minimum of 18 years.

Defence barrister Ignatius Hughes KC had argued the defendant's mental health "played a role" in the murder.

Following Cameron Lindley's death, his family said they were "devastated at the sudden loss of a dear grandson, son, brother and uncle".

"We would like to thank everyone for their support at this horrific time and respectfully request that we are left to grieve in peace at this time," they added.

Dyfed Powys-Police's senior investigating officer, Detective Superintendent Jayne Butler, said Cameron had a "bright future" ahead of him.

"The circumstances of this investigation were particularly harrowing as Cameron, a young man with a bright future ahead of him, cruelly lost his life at the hands of his younger brother, Tyler," she said.

"I would like to thank my team for the hard work and dedication they have shown throughout this difficult investigation.

"I would also like to thank Cameron's family for their support following a very traumatic incident at the family home and the investigation that followed.

"The strength and dignity they have shown during this investigation must be commended and our thoughts remain with them at this sad time."
