Three women arrested on suspicion of murdering man

Three women have been arrested on suspicion of a man's murder in Cardiff.

South Wales Police said it was investigating the death of a 48-year-old man in the Grangetown area of Cardiff.

His family have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers, the force said.

Emergency services attended the scene in the Heol-Y-Berllan and Heol Trelai area of Caerau shortly before 11.30pm on Sunday night.

A 28-year-old woman from Ely, a 43-year-old woman from Caerau and a 43-year-old woman from Worcestershire are being held in custody.

Police say cordons are still in place at the scene as their enquiries continue.

Detective Superintendent Darren George from South Wales Police's major crime team said the investigation remained "in its very early stages".

DS George appealed for anyone who was in the Heol y Berllan and Heol Trelai area between 11pm and 12am on Sunday night to come forward.

"There will also be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days as officers conduct their enquiries," he added.
