An investigation has been launched into the "suspicious" death of a man in Dundee.

Emergency crews responded to a report of a 43-year-old man found seriously injured within a property in the city's Charleston Road at around 11.05pm on Saturday.

The man was taken to Ninewells Hospital, where he died on Sunday.

Police Scotland said his death is being treated as "suspicious" and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.

Detective Inspector Mark Lamont, of Dundee CID, said: "Our thoughts are very much with the man's family and friends at this very difficult time.

"We have a dedicated team of officers working on this investigation and extensive enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances of his death."

A continued police presence will remain in the area as the probe continues, and all those with concerns are urged to speak to the officers.

DI Lamont added: "I am appealing to the community to get in touch with us with any information they have. I would urge anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to contact us.

"I would also be keen to speak to anyone with any CCTV, dashcam or any other footage that they think would assist the enquiry."
