Daniel Rae: Three arrests as part of murder investigation in Rhondda Cynon Taf

Three people have been arrested as part of a murder investigation in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

South Wales Police said Daniel Rae died in a property on Princess Street in Treforest, near Pontypridd, on Sunday night.

Officers are continuing to investigate after they received a report of an assault shortly before 7.55pm.

Mr Rae's family have been informed, the force said.

Detective Superintendent Mark O'Shea is leading the force's investigation.

"I can confirm that three people have been arrested following the death of Daniel Rae in a property on Princess Street, Treforest, on Sunday," he said.

"Two men have been arrested on suspicion of murder, a 22-year-old man from Birmingham and a 33-year-old from Glyncoch, Pontypridd.

"A 21-year-old woman from Treforest has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and conspiring to pervert the course of justice."

Det Supt O'Shea said officers believe this to be a "targeted incident" and were "confident that there is not any wider risk to the public".

South Wales Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at around 7.30pm on Sunday, or who has heard anything in relation to the incident, to get in touch.
