Man left 'raging and shocked' after buggy rammed house while two-year-old slept in Abersychan

A man was left "raging and shocked" after a golf buggy rammed into his house while his two-year-old daughter was asleep.

Neil Lewis told Sky News the incident had left his wife "nervous to sleep" at the family home in Abersychan, Torfaen.

He said the bang was so "loud it literally woke the street up".

The early-morning incident took place on 15 November at 2.30am.

"Me, my wife and my two-year-old daughter were lying in bed asleep," he said.

"All of a sudden I just heard this mighty bang, [I] jumped out of bed, looked out... [and saw] what I believe was a Kawasaki Mule on my drive."

He said he could hear the dog barking, and after shouting out of the window noticed "two males got back into" the buggy, while a "third ran off" - before they "sped off up the road".

"I don't know what it's related to, I don't know the motivation."

Mr Lewis believes the men may have been "after stuff in the garage", which is integrated as part of his house.

"You hear this type of thing on businesses or shops for ATMs. But people's family homes, that's just something out of the ordinary," he added.

"This is not acceptable and it has left us worrying. We've now had to move anything of value from the garage.

"We've had to look at putting extra security measures in place and all through no fault of our own."

Sky News has asked Gwent Police for a statement.
