The weapons expert charged with involuntary manslaughter over the fatal shooting on the Rust set also faces a separate gun charge from the same month.
Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, who has pleaded not guilty in the Rust case, was separately charged on Thursday in New Mexico with carrying a gun in a licensed liquor establishment.
The alleged event happened on 1 October 2021 - three weeks before the Rust shooting.
A lawyer for Gutierrez-Reed called the new charge baseless, Sky News' US partner NBC News reported.
"The special prosecutor has now resorted to charging Hannah Gutierrez-Reed with another offence not tied to the Rust set or remotely related to it. Next week it will probably be something else they will dream up," Jason Bowles said in a statement.
"This is now turned into a complete smear campaign against Hannah Gutierrez-Reed and an attempt by the prosecutor to get any conviction possible because its Rust-related charges against Hannah are so weak."

Baldwin's next movie is about a tragic shooting
Gutierrez-Reed is charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.
Alec Baldwin was rehearsing with a pistol for a scene when the prop gun went off, killing Ms Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.
Charges against the actor were dropped in April, but he could still face criminal charges over the death, with a grand jury asked to consider the case.
Baldwin, 65, has insisted he didn't pull the trigger.
