Officers were called to the stadium on Monday night and the 30-year-old was arrested.

He appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

The cost of the damage will run into at least six figures, it has been reported.

The stadium has a capacity of 63,000 and is the biggest football club ground in London.

Spurs confirmed an individual had been arrested but said there was "no indication" that the incident was linked to antisemitism.

The team's fan base includes members of north London's Jewish community.

It comes as Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said there had been a "disgusting" rise in antisemitic incidents since last weekend's surprise attack on Israel by Hamas.

Police said there had been 105 reports of antisemitic incidents and 75 antisemitic offences between 29 September and 12 October, compared with 14 incidents and 12 offences in the same period a year ago.

Sunak announced a boost in funding to protect local Jewish communities on Thursday.
