Police said the collision involving a Vauxhall Astra and an Audi A4 happened on the A52 between Sandilands and Huttoft at around 3.30pm on Monday.

One of the passengers in the Astra was pronounced dead at the scene and two other passengers were taken to hospital.

The driver was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

In the Audi, the rear-seat passenger was taken to hospital with injuries that are "potentially life-altering and life-threatening", police said.

The driver and front-seat passenger in the Audi were also taken to hospital, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Lincolnshire Police have urged anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to contact them.
