Brittany Narbett, 24, spent more than £5,700 on her victim's bank card by ordering takeaways through Uber Eats.

The victim had lent Narbett his card to pay for a meal during a visit to her home in Dereham, Norfolk, in April 2021.

However, Narbett saved the details and continued to use them to order takeaways without the victim's permission.

Between June 2021 and October 2022, she spent £5,772 on takeaways.

The victim was eventually told by a mutual friend that Narbett had been using the card details - and he reported her to the police.

When confronted by investigating officers, Narbett denied knowingly using the victim's card details and claimed it was an accident.

Last week, at Norwich Magistrates' Court, Narbett pleaded guilty to 14 counts of fraud by false representation, with 197 further offences taken into consideration.

She was sentenced to 20 days of rehabilitative activity requirement, a 12-month mental health treatment programme and ordered to pay £5,772 in compensation to her victim.

Duncan Etchells, supervisor of the Operation Converter team, said: "Narbett had been using the victim's card details for over a year and cost him nearly £6,000.

"I am pleased that the victim will now receive this money back through compensation and hope that the measures put in place will prevent Narbett from reoffending and allow her to move forward."
