Sara Sharif's cause of death 'still to be established' after being found at house in Woking

August 17, 2023

More tests are needed to establish what caused the death of a 10-year-old girl who was found at a house in Surrey.

Sara Sharif's body was discovered in Woking in the early hours of 10 August, and three people who detectives want to speak to have left the UK.

A post-mortem examination carried out earlier this week concluded the cause of death was "still to be established", Superintendent Mark Chapman said on Thursday.

Sara has not yet been formally identified but has been widely named in media reports.

It's emerged the three people sought over the case flew to Pakistan a day before Sara's body was found at a property in Hammond Road.

Police have said they were known to Sara, but no arrests have been made.

Sky News visited the travel agent where the flights to Pakistan were booked and saw copies of passports and tickets for the passengers.

The travel agent said the tickets cost more than £5,100 in total and were booked after a phone call and communication on WhatsApp.

Police have been working with international authorities to locate the trio.

There is no formal extradition treaty between the UK and Pakistan.
