Scott Allison and Marcus Dick, both 18, collapsed and died after attending SWG3 on Saturday where DJ Ben Hemsley was headlining.

In a statement released through Police Scotland, Scott's family said: "We are devastated by the loss of Scott who was loved very much by his family and friends.

"We are asking for privacy at this very difficult time and would like to thank everyone for their kind words."

Marcus' family added: "We are all devastated by the loss of Marcus who went out to enjoy a night with his friends, but became unwell around 11pm and was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he sadly passed away in the early hours.

"This is a very hard time for our family and everyone who knew him.

"We respectfully ask for privacy at this time while we come to terms with our loss."

The DJ event - within the venue's Galvanisers Yard - took place between 2pm and 10pm. An afterparty was then held indoors until 3am on Sunday.

Scott became unwell at Croy railway station in North Lanarkshire late on Saturday night.

He was taken to University Hospital Monklands in Airdrie, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Former Coatbridge High School pupil Marcus fell ill at the music venue.

He was taken to the city's Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where he too was pronounced dead a short time later.

His former headteacher described him as a "popular young man" and said he "showed himself to be a kind, thoughtful and valued member of our school community".

Police Scotland said the teenagers were unknown to each other.

Investigating officers are treating the deaths as drug-related but said there is "no evidence" to suggest they are connected.

Chief Superintendent Mark Sutherland, divisional commander for greater Glasgow, previously said: "Inquiries remain ongoing and although we are investigating both deaths as drug-related at this time, there is no evidence to suggest there is a connection between these deaths.

"We are committed to establishing the full circumstances and are working with the venue, colleagues in the NHS and Public Health Scotland as our inquiries continue to ensure a partnership and public health-led approach."
