Mabli Cariad Hall: Eight-month-old's parents 'heartbroken' over death after crash outside hospital

June 29, 2023

The parents of an eight-month-old girl who died in a crash outside a hospital have said they are "heartbroken".

Mabli Cariad Hall died in the early hours of Sunday morning at Bristol Children's Hospital.

She was initially airlifted for treatment in Cardiff following the collision involving a car and pedestrians outside Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, on Wednesday 21 June.

Rob and Gwen Hall said they will "cherish" their memories of their daughter.

"We are absolutely heartbroken by the death of our beautiful baby girl Mabli," they said.

"She was adored by us and her five siblings and brought us so much joy in her short life.

"We will always remember Mabli's beautiful little smile and cherish the time we had with her."

They thanked everyone who had tried to help including emergency services and staff at Withybush Hospital, University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff and Bristol Children's Hospital.

"Their strength and support allowed us to focus on Mabli," they added.

A GoFundMe page which was set up to raise funds for Mabli's family has raised over £25,000.

The fundraiser, organised by family friend Sinead Morris, said Mabli was "being put back into her pushchair by her dad" when the crash happened.

The driver of the car suffered serious injuries and as of Monday remained in hospital with "non-life threatening injuries".

Two other people, a pedestrian and a passenger in the car, were taken to hospital and have since been discharged.

Dyfed-Powys Police said Mabli's family continues to receive support from officers and hospital bereavement services.

The coroner has been informed and police inquiries are ongoing.
