A man has been charged with murder after a woman's body was found in a layby near the M1.

Derbyshire Constabulary has charged Darren Hall, 36, with the murder of Sarah Henshaw.

Her body was discovered in the early hours of Monday morning in a layby off the westbound carriageway of the A617, close to junction 29 of the motorway, between Chesterfield and Mansfield.

Her mother has paid tribute to her "incredibly kind" daughter.

"Sarah was my first-born child - and was a wonderful daughter and sister," she added.

"She was also a fantastic mum to her two girls, who she loved so much.

"Sarah would always put others first and was always incredibly kind.

"As a family, we are all devastated by her death. We miss her so much and will love her forever."

The mother-of-two was last seen at her home in Ilkeston, Derbyshire, at around 9pm on Tuesday 20 June.

Hall will appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.

A police spokesperson said Sarah's family were being supported by specialist officers.

They added: "Officers remain keen to speak to anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of a blue Ford Transit van, registration beginning YP16, in the early hours of Wednesday 21 June around the area of J29 of the M1 and the A617 towards Chesterfield."
