June 26, 2023

A baby who was airlifted for treatment after a crash outside a hospital last week has died.

Mabli Hall was eight months old when she sustained injuries in the collision outside Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, on Wednesday.

She has been described as the "most beautiful, smiley and happy baby girl".

Dyfed-Powys Police have confirmed that the infant involved in the collision died at Bristol Children's Hospital in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The force has not named her but said the family is being supported by the hospital's bereavement service and police officers.

The infant was airlifted to hospital in Cardiff after the collision at around 11.50am on 21 June but was later transferred to the Bristol hospital.

A GoFundMe page which was set up to raise funds for Mabli's family has raised over £20,000.

The fundraiser, organised by family friend Sinead Morris, said Mabli was "being put back into her pushchair by her dad" when the crash happened.

In an update on behalf of the family on the GoFundMe page, they thanked hospital staff for their care of Mabli.

"The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the dedicated healthcare professionals who have been involved in Mabli's care throughout this challenging period," the update said.

"Their tireless efforts and unwavering commitment have meant the world to the family during these trying times."

Two other people, a pedestrian and a passenger in the car, were taken to hospital and have since been discharged.

Dyfed-Powys Police said officers will be providing "relevant support" in the coming days and weeks.

The coroner has been informed and police inquiries are ongoing.
