TikToker stalked Chelsea footballers Mason Mount and Billy Gilmour

May 24, 2023

A woman has pleaded guilty to stalking two Premier League footballers and harassing a third.

TikToker Orla Sloan, 21, admitted to stalking Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, 24, for more than four months and pleaded guilty to causing "serious alarm or distress" to Brighton midfielder Billy Gilmour after stalking him for over a month.

Sloan also admitted to harassing Chelsea left-back Ben Chilwell.

Sloan, from Exeter, subjected Mount to a "bombardment of messages" between 19 June and 28 October 2022 according to prosecutor Jason Seetal.

She had previously slept with Mount after they met at a party at his England teammate Chilwell's house in November 2020, the court heard.

They stayed in contact with each other for six months before Mount ended their relationship, the court heard.

That's when the messaging began.

Mr Seetal said: "[Mount] began asking her to stop messaging him before blocking the number.

"He then began to receive messages from new numbers and each time he would block those numbers there would be messages from a different number."

Mr Seetal said a total of 21 different numbers were used to contact Mount. Some messages included collages of photos of the player with other women.

The court heard that in one message from an Instagram account using the name "Devil Baby", she said: "I can morph at any time so let me apologise and set things right."

Another message showed an Apple account buying a new number for £12.99 with the words "I'm not buying food anymore so I can get more numbers. I will be faster than you".

Mount was "concerned she had an obsession or fixation with him and he didn't know what she was capable of", according to Mr Seetal.

'She might turn up at my training centre'

In a statement, Mount said: "Miss Sloan knows roughly where I live and where I train.

"I'm worried as if she is unable to contact me she might turn up at my training centre."

Sloan's most serious offence that crossed the custody threshold was against Scottish international Billy Gilmour.

The 21-year-old was stalked between 10 September and 28 October 2022 by the social media influencer.

Gilmour had initially exchanged messages with Sloan before telling her he did not want their contact to continue and did not want to have a relationship with her, the court heard.

But she claimed to have fallen pregnant in allegations described in court as "completely fictitious".

'I don't know who I can trust anymore'

Gilmour said messages had a "huge impact" on his life after he transferred to the Seagulls from Chelsea in September last year.

He admitted to having trouble sleeping and took sleeping tablets.

He said: "It's had a negative effect on my performance and professional life.

"Being in a new town where I don't have my friends or family, it's really upsetting.

"I don't know who I can trust anymore. Some of the information would only have been known by people close to me."

The court heard other messages were aimed at professional footballers, friends and family members, including Chelsea's Chilwell.

Sentencing has been adjourned and Sloan has been granted unconditional bail.
