Hunt for driver after two-year-old girl struck by car in hit-and-run in Dumbarton

Police are on the hunt for a driver after a two-year-old girl had to be taken to hospital following a hit-and-run in West Dunbartonshire.

The toddler was struck by a silver or light-coloured small hatchback car in Dumbarton's Napier Crescent at around 8.30pm on Sunday 9 April.

Police Scotland said the driver failed to stop.

The girl was taken to the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow and later released.

The force said "extensive enquiries" have been carried out and officers are now appealing to the public to help identify the driver and vehicle involved.

Sergeant Archie McGuire, of Argyll and West Dunbartonshire Road Policing Unit, said: "I would urge anyone who may have information to come forward.

"In addition, if you have dashcam that could help with our investigation then please contact us."
