Cristiano Ronaldo: Manchester United star holds newborn daughter in Instagram picture days following death of her twin brother

April 30, 2022

Cristiano Ronaldo has shared a heartwarming new picture of himself holding his newborn daughter, less than two weeks after her twin brother died.

The Manchester United forward and his partner Georgina Rodriguez, 28, announced their son had died at birth on 18 April, but his twin sister had survived.

The 37-year-old, who already has a four-year-old daughter with Ms Rodriguez, as well as three other children, has now posted a black and white image on Instagram of him shirtless while cuddling the baby.

The picture was accompanied with the caption "Forever Love" and also had a love heart emoji.

The baby was seen wearing a cute knitted hat, which led to many of Ronaldo's followers replying with red love hearts.

The couple have not yet revealed their name for their little girl.

Last October, they shared they were expecting twins in a video that featured their other children.

However, earlier this month they said they were "devastated" at the loss of their son and called it the "greatest pain that any parents can feel".

They said at the time: "It is with deepest sadness we have to announce that our baby boy has passed away.

"It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel.

"Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.

"We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support.

"We are all devastated at this loss and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time.

"Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you."

The footballer missed Man United's mid-week match against Liverpool last week, which saw fans at Anfield holding a minute's applause for Ronaldo and his family.

They also sang "You'll Never Walk Alone".

Manchester United's Instagram account also posted a message of support, as it said: "Your pain is our pain. Sending love and strength to you and the family at this time."
