Three flights have been diverted from Gatwick Airport due to IT issues in the air traffic control tower.
Two British Airways flights were diverted to Heathrow Airport while one easyJet flight was redirected to London Luton Airport, a spokesperson for the airport told Sky News.
One British Airways plane was travelling from Tampa, Florida, while the other was coming from Antigua. The easyJet flight was from Belfast.
A statement from the airport said: "We have been experiencing IT issues in the Air Traffic Control tower this morning, resulting in three diverted flights.
"We continue to experience delays with both arrivals and departures, and are working to fully resolve this as soon as possible."
The IT issues were later resolved but ongoing delays were expected.
In an update, a Gatwick spokesperson said: "Earlier IT issues in the Air Traffic Control tower this morning have been resolved and flights are arriving and departing the airport as normal.
"Some flights may still experience delays however and passengers are advised to check their flight status with the airline."
