Officers were called to the Dominion Theatre in central London at 8.40pm on Saturday.

Audience member Ryan Redmond told Sky News that two men and two women were being "rude and abusive" on the balcony - but refused to leave after being spoken to by staff.

"It was the 7.30 show and it happened during the interval and delayed the second half by 20 minutes," Mr Redmond said.

"Bar staff told me one had been rude or abusive and was asked to leave then others in the group got involved."

Mobile phone footage shows people in the audience chanting "out, out, out" before officers remove the four to loud cheers.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said in a statement: "Shortly before 8.40pm on Saturday, August 26, police received reports of two men and two women causing a disturbance at a theatre in Tottenham Court Road, W1.

"Officers attended and the group were escorted from the premises. No arrests. No injuries reported."

Grease the Musical returned to the West End in June and is due to finish after a short run on 28 October.
