Love Island stars Millie Court and Liam Reardon have announced the end of their relationship after a year together, telling fans they are "gutted" but "excited for what's next".
The former couple, who were crowned the winners of the 2021 series, told fans the news in similar statements released on social media, saying they wanted to avoid any speculation.
Both said they had shared an "amazing experience" on Love Island and wished each other well for the future.
"It's been a tough decision and I am gutted but it's ultimately what is best for us right now," Millie, 25, told her 1.9 million followers on Instagram. "Thank you to every single one of you for supporting our relationship."
She added: "We're both ready for new chapters and I'm excited for what's next."
In his message, Liam, 22, said: "We both will continue to be friends and I will remain Millie's biggest supporter in all that she does and I know she will always do amazing."
Thanking fans for their support, he said their Love Island experience and time since had been "an incredible journey".
During their time in the Love Island villa in Majorca, Millie and Liam had a bumpy ride after the infamous Casa Amor episodes - when the boys got to move out for a few days to spend time with new "bombshell" contestants.
Liam had a dalliance with contestant Lillie Haynes during his time there - which was revealed to Millie upon his return.
However, she eventually forgave him and they went on to win the series, beating fellow finalists Chloe Burrows and Toby Aromolaran to claim the £50,000 prize.
With Liam from Wales and Millie from Essex, the pair had been in a long-distance relationship before revealing he had moved to her hometown in November 2021.
A new series of Love Island is under way now and has recently made headlines for the reintroduction of former controversial contestant Adam Collard.
