Seaside FM is at Hornsea's stunning Floral Hall for the launch event for Puffins Galore, a huge trail of beautifully decorated puffins 1.5 metre high puffins, waiting to be discovered this summer right along the coast. We speak to Clive and Martin from Yorkshire Coast Bid about their association with the puffin trail, and the huge opportunity it presents for the whole of the Yorkshire Coast this summer.
We chat to Sue and Faye "the fearless" from Hornsea Inshore Rescue about the popularity already of the trail in attracting visitors to the area. They are one of the charities being supported, and as an independent organisation, the money raised from the trail will be invaluable.
Jackie, Mayor of Withernsea, tells us about the five puffins in Withernsea to be found amongst the 42 dotted all along the coast. Become a "puffin fan" and keep an eye on the five in Withernsea, being supported by Withernsea Town Council.
We chat to Jane Evison from East Riding of Yorkshire Council about the puffin trail, and the important environmental message associated with them, along with the fun of finding all 42.
