A host of fun activities to keep the kids entertained these summer holidays are being held at leisure centres across the East Riding – includng free swimming sessions.
Parents and carers can get a wealth of great ideas to keep youngsters busy and active at East Riding Leisure centres - no matter what the weather brings.
Each leisure centre will be running summer holiday activity programmes full of ideas and activities for children of all ages to enjoy including crash course swimming lessons, bouncy castle and games, archery, roller disco, sports hall activities, sports camps, snorkelling and much more.

Free swimming sessions also return this year for children 16 and under.
Two free swimming sessions, each lasting one hour, are available each week from Friday 19 July to Monday 2 September at all East Riding Leisure centres with pools:
- Bridlington
- Beverley
- Driffield
- Francis Scaife (Pocklington)
- Haltemprice
- Hornsea
- South Holderness
- Withernsea.
Councillor Nick Coultish, the council’s cabinet member for culture leisure and tourism, said: “There are so many activities on offer at East Riding Leisure centres this summer to keep youngsters entertained.
“As well as benefiting children, they will also give parents, carers and grandparents the chance to have fun and stay active along with them.
“And we’re delighted to offer free swimming sessions once again. The school holidays can be an expensive time for families, so we hope they will advantage of this fantastic offer.”
There is no need to book for the free swim sessions, they are a first come, first served basis, and are open to young people living in the East Riding.

Under-eights must be accompanied by an adult. Standard adult swimming fees will apply for adults over 17. Children under three years old can swim for free at any time.
