Back again for 2024, the East Riding of Yorkshire Council Chairman's Awards returns.

The awards ceremony took place on Tuesday, 14 May, at the Royal Hall in Bridlington Spa, where current Chairman, Councillor John Whittle, presented the awards.

The Chairman's Awards recognise and celebrate the people, businesses, and projects that have contributed to improving the East Riding.

This year's winners are a testament to the community's resilience and commitment to positively impacting the East Riding.

The winners of the 2024 East Riding of Yorkshire Council Chairman's Awards are as follows:

Chairman's Built Heritage Award:

Chairman's Business Award:

  • Under 51 Employees category - Alec W.G Hall Ltd., Driffield
  • 51 and Over Employees category - Hawk Furniture Limited, Holme Upon Spalding Moor
  • Community Business - Alessandro Caruso Architecture and Interiors Ltd., Beverley

Chairman's Community Award:

  • Group Category - Families in Goole
  • Individual Category - John Sherwood, Long Riston

Chairman's Sport Award:

  • Talented Performer category - Owen Bruton, Beverley
  • Team/Club Category - Withernsea Karate Club

Chairman's Special Recognition Award:

  • Carol Thomas, BEM, Leven
