As the weather begins to warm up and the flowers bloom, East Yorkshire is delighted to announce exciting bus service changes that will make getting around even more convenient and enjoyable for customers.

The team is working hard behind the scenes to update our online and app timetables in time for the changes, but in the meantime, look at the list below to find out what’s in store for your future journeys.

From Saturday 16th March 2024

Coaster 12 & 13

The Coaster buses are back up to the full timetable for Summer 2024 from 16 March, ready to get you out and about along Yorkshire’s beautiful coastline.

Hop on board the smart, comfortable Coaster buses that run between Bridlington, Filey and Scarborough up to every 30 minutes.

With fantastic views, Coaster services are truly the best way to get to some of the coast’s best destinations. Coaster buses call at Bridlington, Reighton Sands, Blue Dolphin, Filey, Primrose Valley, Flower of May, Crow’s Nest, Cayton Bay and Scarborough – so it’s perfect for those staying or visiting from local holiday villages.

From Saturday 23rd March 2024

64 & 165 – Park and Ride in Scarborough

Scarborough’s Park & Ride sites are back open for the summer 2024 season. Park for free in either of the spacious and secure car parks, then hop on board their comfortable buses that ferry you into the town centre every 20 minutes. With great value fares, it is an excellent option over fighting the stresses of parking in the Town.

Park & Ride buses run seven days a week from Seamer Road (64) and Filey Road (165), making it the perfect way to get into Scarborough without the unnecessary hassle of finding somewhere to park. Buses will run fast to Scarborough, stopping at South Bay and York Place before returning to the Park & Ride sites.

520 – Park and Ride in Bridlington

Bridlington Park & Ride is approximately a mile south of Bridlington Resort at South Cliff car park.  There are over 1000 spaces, including over 50 disabled spaces.

The bus picks up and drops off at the park and ride terminus and again directly opposite the harbour top/in front of South Cliff gardens and at East Riding Leisure Bridlington during specified weekends, holidays, and Bank Holidays.

Experience the ultimate Beachcomber experience, now starting from Scarborough Railway Station!

They have also announced the return of our Scarborough open-top Beachcomber buses for the 2024 summer season, now with a starting point at Scarborough Railway Station. You can step off the train and hop onto the Beachcomber for a seamless journey along the breathtaking Scarborough coastline.

With services running up to every 20 minutes during weekends and school holidays (up to every 15 minutes and daily from 30th June to 1st September), there’s no better way to explore the scenic North and South bays, including a stop at the SEA LIFE Centre. Whether you’re a local looking for a relaxing day out or a visitor eager to soak in the coastal beauty, Beachcomber offers an unmatched way to enjoy the sights.

Starting from the railway station means easy access for customers from near and far, making your journey even more convenient and hassle-free. Let Beachcomber take you on an unforgettable adventure along the coastline, starting right from Scarborough Railway Station.

New links to Spurn Discovery Centre 

The Spurn Explorer, a new Saturday service, begins at Spurn Discovery Centre, funded by East Riding Council and the UK government. Additionally, Service 71 on Sundays will extend to the Spurn Discovery Centre.

Wolds Explorer 200

Get your walking boots ready for the Wolds Explorer 200, starting Saturday/Sunday and Bank Holidays between Pocklington, Millington, Huggate, Fridaythorpe, and Thixendale, conveniently timed to connect with X46/X47 services in Pocklington. This service is provided with financial support from East Riding of Yorkshire Council, funded by UK Government.

From Sunday 31st March 2024

Dales Bus Returns!

Dales Bus 822 resumes operation, connecting Pocklington, York, Ripon, Fountains Abbey, Pateley Bridge, and Grassington on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

From Sunday 7th April 2024

Service X46/X47

Timetable changes to improve timeliness on some journeys to mitigate traffic congestion.

Other timetable changes include:

Monday – Friday:

  • The 0555 from Pocklington–York will start at Beverley at 0517
  • The 0902 Pocklington- Hull interchange will start at Beverley at 0945
  • The 1311 York to Market Weighton will now run through to Hull interchange.
  • The 1708 Pocklington to York will start at Hull at 1545 and depart from Pocklington at 1711.
  • The 1815 York to Pocklington will now run through to Hull interchange.
  • New journey 2010 York Railway Station to Pocklington
  • The 2110 York to Pocklington will now run to Hull Interchange.

Saturday:

  • Minor changes to departure times in the early morning from Hull to York.
  • New journey 0630 Pocklington – York.
  • The 1810 York to Pocklington will now run through to Hull interchange.
  • New Journey 2010 York Railway Station to Pocklington
  • The 2110 York to Pocklington will now run to Hull Interchange.

Sunday:

  • New journey 0705 Hull Interchange to York.
  • The 0914 from Pocklington to Hull will depart at 0950, starting at York Railway Station at 0905.

Service 79/277

A new evening trip Monday to Saturday, along with Sunday timetables will be introduced, supported by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, and funded by the UK Government.

512/513 New Bridlington Town Services for Sundays

Service 512 and 513 will operate Sunday journeys, connecting Bridlington with Bempton Lane, The Crayke, Hustler Road, West Hill, New Pasture Lane, Old Town, and more. These services are supported by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and funded by the UK Government.

Coaster 14

After customer feedback, a new timetable will be introduced for Coaster 14 and revert to hourly standard departure times. Later evening trips on Fridays and Saturdays will operate until August 31st.

558 Brough Town Service

Introduced Monday to Saturday, linking Elloughton (EY Bus Depot), Beech Road/Hunter Road, Welton Road (Morrisons), Loxley Way, Myrtle Way, Moor Road (Aldi), and extending to South Cave. This service is supported by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council and funded by the UK Government.

New Services linking York and North Yorkshire!

In partnership with North Yorkshire Council, we are introducing new routes:

80 Raskelf – Linton on Ouse – York

This new service will replace Reliance Service 29 with a revised timetable.

The first journey Monday to Friday from Raskelf will start at 0700 operating through to York College, on non-college days this will still start at Raskelf and 0700 but terminate at York Station Road.

The 1630 journey from York College to Raskelf will operate all year round but on non-college days will start at 1700 from York Railway Station. This will provide commute options for Helperby, Tholthorpe, Flawith, and Aldwark all year round.

81 Malton – Castle Howard – Sheriff Hutton – York

Replacing York & Country Castle Line with minor timetable changes.

82 & 83 Ripon – Boroughbridge – York

Replacing this section of York & Country services 22/23 with minor timing changes.

182 Ripon – Knaresborough

This section of York & Country is being replaced on 22/23 with minor timing changes.

194  Malton – Hovingham

Replacing York & Country service 194 with minor timetable changes.

31X  York – Easingwold – Kirkbymoorside – Helmsley:

We will be operating the following journeys on this route.

  • 1005 from York Station Avenue to Kirkbymoorside (Monday – Saturday).
  • 1230 Kirkbymoorside – York (Monday – Saturday).
  • 1555 from York Station Avenue to Kirkbymoorside (Saturday and School Holidays).
  • 1730 Kirkbymoorside – York (Saturday and School Holidays).

These journeys will operate into York via Bootham instead of Leeman Road.
