Sewerby Hall and Gardens will be hosting a variety of exciting events and activities for the whole family during the May half term holidays.
Activities include:
27 May and 3 June: Rusticus Adventure: Wind in the Willows!: 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm: Tales from the riverbank with Mole, Ratty and Toad.
27 May and 3 June: Zoo Activity: 11-11.30am and 1-1.30pm: meet the hoof stock: get to know the donkeys, llamas and goats.
28 May: Wildcats Mini Beast Hunt: 11am- 3pm: use mini beast pots, magnifying glasses, nets and maps to find and identify minibeasts.
28 May: Zoo Activity: 11am -12 noon: Penguin Hat and talk workshop: learn about the Humboldt penguins and make a penguin hat.
29 May: Rusticus Encounter: Viking!: 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm: Join Viking shield maiden Freydis, and create a Norse saga.
30 May: Rusticus: Knights of the Round Table!: 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm: Witness Sir Prancealot and his page, Prentice. Enjoy acts of bravery and chivalry.
31 May: Magic Shows and Face Painting: show times 11am, 1pm and 3pm: magic in the Orangery. Face painting outside (this costs £3 per person – cash only).
1 June: Active Coast Creature Create event: 1.30pm – 3.30pm: forage in the woodlands for twigs and leaves, and see nature.
1 June: Rusticus: Wonderland Adventure!: 11.30am, 1pm and 2.30pm: Meet the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts, and enjoy Crazy Croquet and a tea party.
2 June: Wildcats: Card Making: 11am-3pm: create classic greetings cards with natural materials.
2 June: Zoo Activity: Orange Fat Balls: 11am- 12 noon: make fat balls with seeds of your choice to take home.
4 June: Craft Fair: 11am-4pm: in the Orangery.
4 June: East Yorkshire Thoroughbred Car Club Spring Gathering: 10am-4pm: historic and classic vehicles in the gardens.
4 June: Wildcats – Extinct Creatures: 11am-3pm: create a dinosaur!

In addition, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition, on loan from the Natural History Museum in London, continues in the house, with around 100 stunning images.
