Allister Nixon CEO of the Yorkshire Agricultural Society has stepped down from his role following recent health issues.
Allister has stepped down after a period of absence due to health issues and has announced his departure after four years of service, during which time he oversaw the roll out of the Society’s values, a rebrand of the Society and its family of businesses as well as the refurbishment of Fodder.
The Society’s Board of Trustees, led by Chairman Paul Russell, will oversee the leadership transition.
The running of the charity will be overseen by Society Manager David Tite, with the commercial venues run by Commercial Director Graham Thompson, supported by the Senior Management Team.
Allister said: “My recent health issues have given me cause and opportunity for much reflection, and I have decided that this is the right time for me to move on to my next chapter.
“It has been a real privilege to lead this incredible organisation and work alongside such a dedicated team. We do amazing things here, and I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together during my tenure. I wish the organisation and everyone in it continued success.”
Chair of the Trustees Paul Russell said: “We would like to thank Allister for his commitment over the last four years and wish him well with his recovery and next chapter.”
“The Board is confident that David and Graham, supported by Trustees and the SMT will lead the charity successfully as the team prepare for a busy Christmas season ahead.”
