A winter memorial service is to be held at Lelley Fields Crematorium in Preston, in the heart of Holderness.
East Riding residents who would like to remember loved ones they have lost are being invited along to the free special service at the venue, off Sproatley Road.
The winter memorial will be held on Thursday 12 December. Doors will open at 6pm, with the service starting at 6.30pm.
The one-hour service in the crematorium’s Oak Hall is open to all and offers a chance for people to remember and pay their respects to the people who mattered to them.
Christine Walker-Kelley, manager of Lelley Fields, said: “The service will provide a comforting and peaceful space for all those wishing to remember their departed loved ones, regardless of when their loss occurred or if their original service was held at Lelley Fields.
“The evening will feature heartfelt words, music, readings, and a special performance by a local choir to bring solace and peace to all in attendance.
“Together, let us honour and remember those who hold special places in our hearts as we gather to celebrate their lives during this season of remembrance.”
To ensure that all attendees have a reserved spot, Lelley Fields kindly asks those planning to join them to email the crematorium directly at lelleyfields@eastriding.gov.uk or call 01482 392910 to confirm their attendance.
For those unable to attend in person, a link to view the service from the comfort of their home can be requested by emailing the crematorium.
When reserving a place or requesting the viewing link, attendees are invited to provide the names of their loved ones they wish to remember and can also submit a photo of them for display as a visual tribute during the service.
There is also an opportunity to add a personal message to the Lelley Fields’ winter tree using seeded paper. These messages will be planted in the venue’s garden come spring, creating a lasting memorial within the grounds.
Following the service, visitors are welcome to stay for light refreshments and chat with other attendees and the Lelley Fields team.
