Organisers of the Yorkshire Agricultural Machinery Show (YAMS) at York Auction Centre, Murton which takes place on Wednesday 4th February, have announced temporary changes to event parking due to recent heavy rainfall.
Several on-site and overflow car parks are too wet to use safely and will be closed, including all overflow parking at York Auction Centre. Accessible parking will still be available next to the showground for visitors who need it.
To keep traffic moving, visitors are being directed to the following free Park & Ride locations, all with shuttle buses running throughout the day:
- Elvington Airfield (YO41 4AU) – Around 3 miles from the showground, with three continuous shuttle buses
- Grimston Bar Park & Ride (YO19 5LA) – Served by two shuttle buses
- B&Q Hull Road (YO10 3JA) – Limited to 100 spaces, with one dedicated shuttle bus
All shuttle services will operate from 8:00am to 5:00pm, and both parking and transport are free.
Despite the parking changes, organisers confirm the event is going ahead as planned with a full line-up of exhibitors, including more than 30 new businesses and several product launches. The event attracts around 15,000 visitors each year since it launched in 2014.
Visitors are strongly encouraged to use the Park & Ride sites to help reduce congestion around Murton.
