Water works to begin in Long Riston and Routh

Yorkshire Water will begin a £460k project to replace 1.7km of clean water mains in the villages of Long Riston and Routh, near Beverley on Monday 11 May. The company says it will improve the resilience and reliability of the network.

Aadam Baluch, project manager at Yorkshire Water, said:

“Replacing the clean network with flexible, plastic pipework will improve the quality and reliability of water supplies, reduce leakage and prevent further bursts, helping us to deliver the quality of service that our customers rightly expect.”

Contract partners, United Infrastructure, will replace mains pipework along the A1035 between Routh and White Cross roundabout. It is scheduled to take six weeks to complete. Local residents have been informed of any localised disruption.
