Traders wanted for ‘Coastal Market’ in Withernsea’s Valley Gardens

Withernsea’s new ‘Coastal Market’ aims to open in April.

Six units, looking like over-sized beach huts will be built in Valley Gardens.

Withernsea Town Council is now inviting expressions of interest saying they want “the right blend of businesses to offer something new to tourists and meet the demands of residents.” Custom proposals for short-term and pop-up leases will be considered.

A small community steering group, including representatives from existing seafront businesses, will help with the tenant selection process, with additional weighting toward applications from residents or those offering in-demand services.

The Town Council says they already have interest from artists and specialist food vendors.

All the units will be open at least five days a week including weekends and bank holidays during the main
season, Easter to the end of October. They will be open at least weekends and bank holidays between the end of October until New Year. The units will not be open after 10.30pm unless appropriately licensed and agreed with the Town Council.

A copy of the Expression of Interest – New Trader Call can be found in the Gazette, viewed on the Town Council website www.withernseatowncouncil.co.uk, the Withernsea Town Council Facebook page – or
collected/emailed from the Town Council office in the Meridian Centre and returned to Dr James
Wood at admin@northern-shores.co.uk.
