Nominations are now open for the 2025 East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Chairman’s Awards.
This year marks a special milestone: 25 years of recognising the outstanding contributions of individuals, businesses, and projects that have made a significant impact on our community.
East Riding of Yorkshire Council Chairman, Councillor Linda Bayram, will present the awards at an event in May. The awards celebrate excellence across four categories:
Community: Honouring groups and individuals who have improved the lives of East Riding residents through non-commercial projects.
Built Heritage: Celebrating private homes, new builds, or business premises that have been sympathetically renovated or restored.
Business: Recognising businesses that have contributed to the economic prosperity of the region.
Sport: Celebrating local talent and dedication to sports clubs and activities.
Hawk Furniture Limited based in Holme Upon Spalding Moor, who won the 2024 Chairman’s Business Award in the 51 and Over Employees category, said: “This award means everything to us.
‘’Being nominated was an honour, and winning is fantastic. It shows that our efforts to create a great culture and team have been recognized. Thank you for acknowledging our hard work over the past few years.”
Families in Goole who won the 2024 Chairman’s Community Award in the Group category, said: “We never imagined we would win, and it’s just amazing.
‘’This award means the world to us because, as a small group, we make a big difference to everyone who comes to us. It’s everything to us, and we love it.”
