Lelley Fields Crematorium has an open day on Saturday 11 July.
The venue, in Sproatley Road, Preston, Holderness, will open its doors from 9.30am-1.30pm, to give those interested a chance to go behind the scenes at the modern crematorium.
Staff will be giving guided tours, people can chat with local funeral directors and other industry professionals.
The event is free and open to all, whether or not you have used the crematorium before.
Councillor Paul West, the council’s cabinet member for environment and transport, said:
“Lelley Fields really is an incredibly welcoming place and the staff are all friendly and very sensitive.
“By opening the doors we want to demystify what people may think about a crematorium and give them the opportunity to see just what a beautiful building and grounds we have.”
Lelley Fields opened in February 2023 as the first crematorium to be operated by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and was the first new crematorium to be built in the East Riding since 1998. Visit www.lelleyfields.co.uk for more information
