Humberside Police seize 46 e-scooters and bikes in two week campaign

The Humberside Roads Policing Team have joined a national two-wheel campaign which ran from Tuesday, 2 June to Sunday, 14 June 2026 tackling the illegal use of motorcycles, off-road bikes and e-scooters.

During the two-week operation, officers seized 46 e-scooters and bikes that were being used illegally and were not road legal. In addition, numerous vehicle stops were carried out, traffic offence reports were issued, and riders were provided with education and advice.

Inspector Neil Hutchins from the Roads Policing Unit said:

“I am extremely pleased with the results achieved during the last two weeks of action.

“We know there is still more work to do, and we will continue to take action against any vehicle that poses a risk to road users and the wider community.

“My message to anyone considering purchasing an e-scooter or illegal e-bike for use on public roads is simple – don’t. If a vehicle is being used unlawfully, we will take action and seize it where appropriate.”
