Free Family Hub ‘Play and Learn’ days are being offered at East Riding Best Start Family Hubs this summer.
Activities include craft, sensory play, games and outdoor activities for different ages, from babies to age five. Older siblings are also welcome.
Councillor Victoria Aitken Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Education said:
“The Play and Learn days provide a range of fun activities for children, in their local communities, and it’s great to see that they are always well attended.
“The events also provide an opportunity to network and meet other families, and a chance to find out more about the activities and support that Family Hubs offer – from pregnancy, through the early years, childhood and into teenage years.”

Monday 27 July: Market Weighton Family Hub, 10am – 12noon
Tuesday 28 July: Anlaby Family Hub, 1.30 – 3.00pm – Scoops of fun (booking required)
Monday 3 August: Bridlington North Family Hub, 1.15 – 2.45pm
Tuesday 4 August: Driffield Family Hub, 10am – 12noon
Wednesday 5 August: Hornsea Family Hub, 10am-12noon – Seaside theme
Thursday 6 August: Cottingham Family Hub, 10.30am – 2.30pm – Family Play Day with partners (booking required)
Thursday 13 August: Withernsea Family Hub, 10am – 12noon – Carnival time
Thursday 13 August: Kingsway Family Hub, Goole, 10-11.30am – By the Sea (booking required)
Wednesday 19 August: Hedon Family Hub, 1-3pm – The Gruffalo outdoors
Thursday 20 August: Bridlington Family Hub, 1- 2.30pm
Friday 21 August: Marshlands Family Hub, Goole, 10.30am – 2.30pm – Family Play Day with partners (booking required)
Monday 24 August: Brough Family Hub, 1.30-3pm – Ships Ahoy (booking required)
Wednesday 26 August: Beverley Family Hub, 1 – 2.30pm – Under the Sea

Throughout July, Children’s Centres at Bridlington Butts Close, Withernsea, Beverley, Cottingham, Goole Marshlands and Goole Kingsway will all become Family Hubs with new signage being put in place. They follow Bridlington Shaftesbury Road – which became the first Family Hub in the East Riding.
Family Hub webpages help families to find out about the support available, see classes and activities taking place in their local area and, from September, families will be able to make online bookings.
Families can also access free online Togetherness parenting guides, which support through every stage in a child’s life, from toddler tantrums, teenage moods, or just to feel more confident as a parent. The free online Togetherness guides can help: eryc.link/Togetherness
