Following the announcement of the hose pipe ban and subsequent watering restrictions, Hornsea Town Council will be implementing its drought watering plan.
The Council has already invested in rainwater harvesting and storage systems, which they say, should allow them to keep the town’s hanging baskets and planters hydrated during the restrictions.
The hanging baskets and planter towers around the town are of a water-saving design and incorporate an internal reservoir with capillary matting. This reduces water usage and wastage in comparison to the traditional moss-lined baskets. This also keeps plants moist for longer.
