Cricket facility approved for Hornsea

East Riding of Yorkshire Council planners have approved a new cricket facility in Hornsea.

The authority green-lit proposals for an all-weather cricket facility to be installed at the Hollis Recreational Ground.

The approved application details plans for a net fencing structure that will span up to 33 metres in length and over 7 metres in width.

The facility will have a synthetic turf playing surface, allowing it to be used at all times of the year.

Planning documents claim the facility will provide significant benefits to the local community, namely more opportunities for sports participation for young people.
