Two weeks of roadworks between Aldbrough and Withernwick

East Riding of Yorkshire Council is to invest £230,000 to upgrade a length of Withernwick Road between the junction with the B1242 Hornsea Road and The Bungalow.

The project is due to begin on Wednesday 18 November and is expected to take two weeks to complete.

The work will involve resurfacing sections of the road including the B1242 Hornsea Road junction, carrying out structural patching and strengthening the road edges in preparation for surface dressing at a later date.

Working hours will be Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4.30am.

Sections of Withernwick Road and the B1242 Hornsea Road being worked on will need to be closed to through traffic and a diversion will be in place.

Traffic will be diverted via Aldbrough Road, Main Street, Beverley Road, Hull Road, North Road, Hornsea Road, Hull Road, Southgate, B1242 Rolston Road and Withernwick Road

Access to homes and businesses will be maintained wherever possible during the work.

Buses will still have access through the closure on the B1242.

The project will be carried out by the council’s own road maintenance team.
