The Do It for East Yorkshire (DIFEY) Community fund remains open for applications, with voluntary and community groups across the East Riding encouraged to apply for funding for community-led projects.
Applications are open until Wednesday 30 September, or until all available funding has been allocated. A total of £200,000 will be invested by East Riding of Yorkshire Council in community projects.
Grants of between £1,500 and £5,000 are available to voluntary and community organisations, charities, and town and parish councils, for community-led projects that strengthen local communities and deliver meaningful social impact.
To support potential applicants, the council is hosting a funding workshop on Wednesday 29 July at the Champney Treasure House in Beverley, from 1.30pm to 4.00pm. The workshop will provide more information about the fund and also share advice and guidance.
Local groups and organisations are invited to attend to discuss project ideas, ask questions about the fund, and receive support with developing applications. Members of the Local Growth Team will be available throughout the session to provide guidance and advice.
The fund supports projects such as creative events, festivals and cultural activities, projects that support health wellbeing and social connection, or those that improve accessibility and other infrastructure improvements.
The fund can also support projects that enhance community safety and perceptions of safety or improve local green spaces and the environment.
Funding awarded to date has supported a range of projects, including improvements to Rise Village Hall, a sensory garden in Bridlington, broadband enhancements for a community pavilion in South Cave, and a cultural events programme in Hedon.
All funded projects must be fully completed and financially closed by Sunday 31 January 2027.
