Chris Todd starts work as Chief Constable of Humberside Police

Chris Todd has officially taken up the role of Chief Constable of Humberside Police.

Mr Todd signed his attestation papers at Priory Road Police Station in Hull, formally pledging his commitment to serving the communities of East Yorkshire, Hull and North and North East Lincolnshire with integrity and fairness for a victim focused service.

Jonathan Evison, Humberside’s Police & Criome Commissioner, welcomed Mr Todd in his new role, saying:

“I am delighted to welcome Chris Todd as the new Chief Constable of Humberside Police. I look forward to working closely with him to ensure the force continues its impressive progress in delivering high
quality policing. I would also like to thank Judi Heaton for her dedication and leadership during her time as Temporary Chief Constable. Her commitment during this transitional period has been greatly appreciated.”

Speaking after the attestation ceremony, Mr Todd said:

“I am delighted and hugely honoured to have joined Humberside Police as Chief Constable. I intend to bring consistent, stable and ethical leadership and build on the excellent work that is already being delivered every day across East Yorkshire, Hull and North and North East Lincolnshire.”

“Through my leadership I will be striving to make Humberside Police an outstanding,
globally acclaimed Police Service which is, victim focused, community focused and
workforce focused. I would like the communities we serve to have confidence in and be
proud of the service they receive from the force.”

Chief Constable Todd brings with him a wealth of experience in policing, leadership,
and public service, and is focused on continuing the force’s mission to deliver outstanding policing for all. His vision centres on creating a victim focused police service that residents, officers and staff are proud of and bringing a consistent, ethical and stable leadership to the force.

Jonathan Evison added:

“Chris takes up his appointment at a great time for Humberside Police. Performance remains impressive with crime rates down again by 5.4% year to date and there is further work in place to improve performance for communities further. Operation Coastline and Operation Shield go from strength to strength making a difference to our communities on the areas the public value. I am currently finalising
negotiations with the Home Office for a neighbourhood policing uplift and hope to announce positive news soon for more police officers. It is a good time to be the Chief Constable for Humberside Police”.
