Just as the second half of England’s match kicked off, volunteers from Hornsea Inshore Rescue and Bridlington RNLI were tasked into service in relation to a possible missing person.
At 11.04pm, the Bridlington RNLI crew were requested to launch by HM Coastguard following reports of a missing person who may have entered the water on a beach south of Bridlington.
With a crew of three onboard, Bridlington RNLI’s inshore lifeboat Ernie Wellings launched at 11.17pm and began conducting a shoreline search towards Barmston.
Shortly before midnight, both Bridlington RNLI and Hornsea Inshore Rescue, received an update that the individual had been located safe and well inland. The search was subsequently stood down.
