Princess Eugenie 'so looking forward' to birth of Beatrice's second child

October 02, 2024

Princess Eugenie has said she is "so looking forward" to "this journey of motherhood" with her sister after Princess Beatrice announced the pregnancy of her second child on Tuesday.

Sarah Ferguson also welcomed the announcement, posting on Instagram that "words can't quite express the joy and excitement".

Prince Andrew's eldest daughter, 36, and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 40, are expected to welcome their new baby in early spring.

The couple have a three-year-old daughter named Sienna and Mr Mapelli Mozzi also has an eight-year-old son, Wolfie.

In an Instagram post, Princess Eugenie published two pictures, one of the sisters by themselves, and one with their husbands and children on the beach from Christmas 2022, with the caption: "Congratulations Beabea.

"So looking forward to more on this journey of motherhood together. And adding another little one to the gang."

Meanwhile, the princess's mother Sarah Ferguson said in a separate social media post: "Words can't quite express the joy and excitement I feel as you and Edo prepare to welcome another precious addition to your beautiful family.

"Becoming a granny again fills my heart with so much happiness and gratitude.

"Watching you grow as a mother has been one of the greatest privileges of my life, and now to see your family blossom further is an absolute blessing.

"Our family is growing, and so too is the love that surrounds us. I cannot wait to meet this little one and to share in all the wonderful memories we will make together," she added.

Buckingham Palace said on Tuesday that the King had been informed and that both families "are delighted with the news".

The baby will be 11th in line to the throne.

He or she will also be the 14th great-grandchild of the late Queen but will not be an HRH.
