    Howdy!

Yes, hello again to listeners, anoraks, lovers, haters and stalkers of The Mike Brown Radio Show and welcome to my usual ramblings on my Seaside FM blog.

For those of you who haven't read my blogs before, it's kind of an extension of the show I do on Seaside FM every Sunday. Some of what are about to read is the bits I couldn't fit in last week and some of it is stuff that is just on my mind now that I would have forgotten about by the time it get's to Sunday!

Also, a few of you have been wondering what I've been getting up to off late, so I dedicate this one to YOU!

  • What's on in Holderness this weekend

    Howdy!

There are so many things going that I thought I'd take this opportunity to remind you about what's happening in our part of East Yorkshire oover the Weekend.

  • Mike Brown's Weekend Round-Up

    Howdy!

Only me again with a weekend round up and some details of what happened on the show this last week.

Howdy!

Welcome to the official show page for my Sunday afternoon show.

So, what's this Mike Brown Radio Show thing all about then?!

Regular listeners will know that it's bit off the wall, a bit random and very anoraky. I like to think of it as a bit of an experiment mixing what radio used to sound like with the the better parts of today's radio.

Musically, it's an eclectic mix of indie, rock, dance, soul and what ever comes out of box next!
I don't do requests as all I've ever been asked for is stuff that you can already hear on other radio stations, although if you can think of anything decent you can email me.

Usual 'stuff' on the show includes:
'The Same Old Song', 'The Seaside FM Soul Train' and more.

Past Guests
We've already had the follwing people on the show...

  • Andy Train, a comedian & nurse from Hull.
  • Alan Canvess from Hull & East Riding Campaign for Real Ale. Alan popped down to encourage people to support their local public houses & drink real ale & cider. He was also looking for new members to join the local CAMRA branch.
  • Frank Sidebottom who did some performed on his keyboard for 2 hours, but then he had to go to do some shopping for his Mum!
  • Infinite, a Withernsea band who have since split up. It was nothing to do with me!
  • Danny Norton, from EYMS.
  • Stewart Campbell, from CAMRA and The Hop & Vine real ale pub in Hull.
  • Agraman the Human Anagram, a comedian and host from Beverley.
  • Paul Kitchen, a comedian, magician & busker! I spoke to him in the bar of a hotel about how he got started and how he can be seen busking in Hull & York!
  • Dave Watts from the HarriWatts Band, a three piece band from Hull. He spoke about the groups influences and how John Prescott had challenged them to write a song about the smoking ban.
  • Comedian Trevor Lock, who was shopping at H&M in St.Stephen's, Hull when we rang him! Frank Sidebottom (who was a guest on the same show) asked him how much money he had on him, he said 15 quid! It was a surreal interview to say the least!
  • John Gilbert, the festival director of the Hull Comedy Festival. We bumped into him down the pub one night so asked him to give us the low down on the gigs taking place. I also tried to persuade him that he should put on an event in Withernsea during the next comedy festival.
  • Jack Gleadow, a local young magician.
  • Masked Dan and ThereplicagooseEgg, producers of funny video's.
  • Shirley Higton, a singer & songwriter from Bridlington.
  • Scarlet Lights, an all female theatre company from East Yorkshire.
  • James Christopher, a comedian and host from York.

  • Sandi Thom, chart topping singer of "I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker".
  • Avalon Way, a 4 piece band from Darwen.
  • Sam Jones, a local singer & songwritter. Sam sang some quirky songs on the show prior to his performance at the Carnivale 69 comedy lounge.
  • Fine 69, a new up & coming local band.
  • Natalie Roe. Nat came down to play me some tracks including songs she had wrote about Carrots, Hull & her dead goldfish, Jack!
  • Sworn Amogst. Withernsea's biggest metal group.
  • Dr Jekyll's Secretary. Andy & Bob from the band came in to talk about how the band was formed and how they decided which songs they would perform.
  • Chris Mayo. Chris spoke to me from the train up from the big smoke prior to his performance in Hull.
