Justin, Barry (thumb aloft) and Peter with some of the team at Dewsbury's Branch FM.
Branch FM originally started in the mid-90s as a religious strand on HWD Hospital Radio in Dewsbury. After some months they were asked to produce and broadcast a Sunday morning religious show between 7-9am and this was the birth of what would later become Branch FM. Throughout the next decade and half the group ran regular 28 day temporary broadcasts (known as Restricted Service Licence or RSL's for short) from studios in Dewsbury and they developed accordingly. They then applied for an Access Community licence and were unsuccessful, they later re-applied when OFCOM advertised new Community Licences and this time they were successful.
